Our Story
// loving our neighbors //

The visionary seed of C.A.P. Ministries was planted on a vacation trip that our founder Greg Adams and his wife Lisa took several years ago to Lake City, Colorado. While vacationing in Lake City they attended Sunday morning worship service at the First Baptist Church of Lake City. After the services Greg met Dan File. Dan spoke of his ministry to the state legislators of Colorado and Wyoming through Capitol Commission. The idea intrigued Greg and he filed it in his thinking as a ministry opportunity after retiring from the pastorate.

“Are you passionate about teaching the Word of God? Have you ever thought about ministering to public servants? You can teach city and county public servants in your community the same studies I read as a member of the White House Cabinet Bible Study in Washington, D.C. Please join me in the bold mission to teach the Word of God to local government officials all across America.”

Former Governor of Texas
In the Providence of God, Greg was reading a theological journal when he read the above advertisement. It was June of 2021 and Greg was seriously contemplating his retirement from his pastorate of thirty-four years. The seed had germinated. Greg applied with Capitol Ministries, was vetted, and approved. Greg thought that this would serve as a “ministry side-hustle.” This “side-hustle” would soon sprout into a full-time ministry.
During the transition phase of Greg’s retirement from the pastorate, God began burdening Greg’s heart about continuing his chaplain ministry to law enforcement (while pastoring in Kennedale, Texas Greg served two years as the Chaplain for the Kennedale PD). In the providence of God, using current and decades old connections in Weatherford, Texas and Parker County the Lord opened the door for Greg to serve as a volunteer chaplain in the Parker County Sheriff’s Office. Each week Greg has the privilege of regularly ministering to administrators, administrative staff, investigators, and patrol deputies through 12-hour shift “ride-outs”. In June 2022 C.A.P. Ministries, Inc. was formed and received its 501(c)(3) classification from the I.R.S. a month later.
Through C.A.P. Ministries, Greg is currently teaching three Bible Studies to various local and county public officials and servants. The seed that was planted years ago in Lake City, Colorado has become a field of grain ready for the harvest in Parker County, Texas.
Please join Greg and partner with C.A.P. Ministries to care genuinely, assist practically, and proclaim faithfully the Word of God to peace officers, public officials, and public servants.

A Word from Greg

The adage states that “one picture is worth a thousand words.” This picture attests to the truth of that old proverb. The picture was taken in November 2023 at our annual rest, assess, and planning retreat for the board of C.A.P. Ministries. I love this picture because it speaks volumes about this board and its relationship to one another and to our Lord.
The joy of the Lord is evident in each smile. There is a comfortableness of presence with one another. There is a diversity of backgrounds coupled with mutual respect. This is a group of accomplished individuals with strong opinions tempered with the humility of Christ.
A thousand words could never express my gratitude and appreciation to the Triune God and this board for the privilege of laboring with them in this ministry. I love each of them and regard their friendship and counsel as one of the great honors of my life. What a thousand words could never express, this picture, to me, says it all.
Thank you, Bryson, Dedra, David, and Carl. It is a joy, honor, and a pure pleasure serving with and beside each of you.
Blessings,

Greg
